Through new eyes as Marcel Proust would suggest. If we want new results we have to take new action. By new I mean never done.  We have to alter the way our health is occurring to us and how health care and diseases occur to us.

 

The view one takes dictates their actions, thoughts feelings and even their experiences in life. "Around 1992 I fell on my hip and received a hip injury that eluded x-rays, a CAT scan and many visits to doctors. More than two years of chiropractic visits did nothing to alleviate the problem. As such, I suffered a disability for 15 years. I was unable to walk for more than a few blocks without limping and suffering a great deal of discomfort in my hip. I would hesitate to guess how much money I have wasted on medications and different types of therapy, to try to alleviate the pain over the past

15 years.

 

Last week, during Alan’s visit, I was a bit surprised to learn of his extensive knowledge of muscular anatomy. In his exploring the effects of my muscle strengths and weaknesses, he found the muscles that had been compensating for the injury. With that knowledge, he began using his talents to manipulate the weakened muscles and stimulate them to do what they were intended to do. The expression, “No pain, no gain” has new meaning to me now. While it was painful to get these muscles back on track, the effects would soon prove that it was a good decision for me.

 

For the first time in 15 years I was able to sleep without hip pain. After a full days work there was still no pain. A week later and I am now catching up on all the lost sleep. I may not be walking marathons, but neither am I as limited in my mobility. I no longer worry about having to spend a lot of time on my feet.
